HAMLER – Wil Morrow scored four touchdowns and TJ Rhamy chipped in with two more as Patrick Henry plowed their way past Evergreen, 42-22, to drop the Vikings to 4-3 on the season Friday night.
Morrow got the Patriots going midway through the first quarter as the big fullback rumbled 26 yards to give PH a 7-0 lead.
The Vikings moved past midfield behind three Hunter Vanwert runs, but the drive stalled when Rhamy’s helmet-to-helmet attack for a sack on quarterback Jack Etue was allowed and Evergreen was forced to punt.
Morrow capped a 71-yard drive with a 17-yard run just before the end of the first to put PH on top 14-0, and then added another score from four yards out with 26 ticks left in the half to make it 22-0.
Rhamy capped the opening drive of the second half with a 24-yard run and with the ensuing two-point conversion, PH went up 30-0.
Zack Lumbrezer got that score right back as he returned the kickoff 90 yards for a score and the Vikings’ two-point made it 30-8.
The teams traded scores the rest of the way as Morrow and Rhamy scored on short TD runs, while Etue found Chandler Lumbrezer for a 4o-yard scoring pass and then Bryce Hudik on the back corner of the end zone for a touchdown pass.
In all, PH ran for 329 yards as Morrow had 161 on 24 carries and Rhamy 144 with the same amount of touches on the ball. The Patriots passed for 76 for a total of 405 yards.
Etue had 210 in the air on 12 for 24 passing.
Lumbrezer had seven catches for 148 yards and Hudik five for 62. Vanwert was held to 49 yards on the ground in 12 carries.
The Vikings travel to Wauseon (2-5, 1-3 NWOAL) Friday in what is a must-win situation as they continue to play for a berth in the OHSAA state playoffs.
