Swanton was led by a fourth place finish from Brett Bettinger as the Bulldogs placed fifth at the Fayette Eagle Cross Country Invitational Saturday.
The team from New Haven took first, Fayette was runner-up, Antwerp third, Morenci fourth, and then the Bulldogs.
Bettinger placed fourth with a time of 17:47. Tyler Boyd was the next best for Swanton, finishing 29th with a time of 19:53. Blake Szalapski was 50th (21:14), Trace Benson 57th (21:46), and Tommy Chonko 61st (22:09).
Delta got a 17th place finish from Nickolas Sherick and 26th place from Walker Sniegowski.
In the girls race, Swanton’s Briona Davis finished 18th with a time of 23:10. Their other runner, Ashley Keaton, was 76th (29:30).
Delta had three runners in the top 25, led by Cassandra Lee who placed 10th (22:42). Jenna Hallett was 14th (22:45), and Keirsten Culler 21st (23:23).
Overall, Pettisville won the team trophy, Pittsford was runner-up, Blissfield third, Montpelier fourth, Fayette fifth, Antwerp sixth, Delta seventh, New Haven eighth, and Britton Deerfield ninth.
