Swanton has nearly its entire team back as they seek a third straight title in Northwest Ohio Athletic League girls soccer.
Just two seniors are lost from last year’s team, which finished 12-5-1. Taylor Dohm (first team all-league in 2016) and Kaitlyn Anderson were lost to graduation, but there are 13 returning letter winners for coach Jim Dickman.
Leading the returnees is senior Haley Nelson, who was first team All-NWOAL and second team all-district last season.
Ally Hendricks and Amber Torres are also back for their senior seasons after being named second team All-NWOAL and honorable mention all-district.
“We should be very strong this year with all the returning lettermen and seven seniors,” said Dickman.
Rounding out a strong senior class are Julia Hightower, Kendra Keefer (honorable mention all-league), Tonya Timpe, and Kirsten Truckor.
Also back is junior Bridget Harlett, the Bulldogs’ second leading scorer last season behind Nelson. She was honorable mention All-NWOAL last season.
In the league race, the Bulldogs could receive challenges from Archbold, Bryan, and Wauseon, who each return some key players from last season.
