Swanton athletes claimed league titles in field events during the first day of the Northwest Ohio Athletic League Track and Field Championships on Tuesday.

On the boys side, the Bulldogs’ Kayden Davis won a pair of events. Davis was victorious in the long jump with a jump of 20 feet, 3 and 1/2 inches, then he defended his league high jump title at 6 feet, 2 inches.

Josh Tresnan-Reighard of Delta was first in the discus with a top throw of 139 feet, 7 inches. Sam Worline of Evergreen was runner-up at 134 feet, 10 inches.

In the girls meet after day one, Swanton’s Trista Eitniear took first in the shot put with a throw of 38 feet, 6 and 1/4 inches. Eitniear was also fourth in the discus.

The Evergreen boys are third with 33 points and Swanton fourth with 27 points in the standings after day one of the meet. Swanton’s girls sit in fourth place with 29 points.

The NWOAL Championships conclude tonight with the running finals beginning at 7 p.m.
