The Swanton golf team recorded another solid week this week. First they took fifth out of 17 teams at the Patrick Henry Invitational on Monday; they then bested both Maumee Valley Country Day and Toledo Christian in a tri-match at Toledo Country Club Tuesday; and on Thursday they returned home for a 163-195 victory over Elmwood.
Absent one of their better golfers, Sam Betz, the Bulldogs posted a 334 team score in taking fifth at the Patrick Henry tournament.
Ryan O’Shea shot an 81 to lead them. Garrett Swank had an 82, Adam Lemon 85, and Mazin Rukieh 86.
Rukieh carded a 39 in Swanton’s win in the nine-hole match versus MVCD and Toledo Christian. Swank was next with a 41, while Lemon and Lucas Bloom each shot a 47.
Swanton as a team had a 174, then came MVCD with a 192, and Toledo Christian at 194.
On Thursday Rukieh was again Swanton’s best, finishing with a 37 for medalist honors. Swank added a 39, O’Shea 43 and Bloom 44.
This coming Monday Swanton plays host to Maumee in a match beginning at 4 p.m.
