Bulldog track takes 8th at Eisenhart Invite

DEFIANCE — Swanton track and field garnered eighth place finishes at the Bob Eisenhart Invitational on Saturday at Tinora.

The Bulldog boys took eighth with 38 points. Archbold won the boys meet, edging host Tinora 109.5-109, while the Delta boys were fifth with 61.75 points.

Evergreen tied for ninth with Holgate, each scoring 37 points.

On the girls side Swanton and Hicksville tied for eighth (32), while Delta and Evergreen tied for 10th (22).

The Swanton boys were led by Kayden Davis in the high jump and long jump. Davis won the high jump by clearing 6 feet in fewer attempts than Fairview’s Jeffrey Smith, then he was second in the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 3 and 3/4 inches.

Delta went one and two in the boys shot put. Kai Fox was first with a throw of 42 feet, while Austin Kohlhofer took second with a throw of 40 feet, 9 and 1/2 inches.

Kohlhofer added a second place finish in the discus with a throw of 130 feet, 11 inches.

The Panthers’ Kaleb Barnes took second in the 300m hurdles and third in the 110m hurdles. Also for Delta, Blake Schauwecker finished third in the 200m.

Evergreen’s William Dumas tied for second in the pole vault and cleared 10 feet, 6 inches. The Vikings’ Evan Lumbrezer was third in the 400m.

On the girls side, Sami Taylor of Swanton placed third in the discus with a throw of 114 feet.

The Evergreen girls’ 4x100m relay team took third.
