New division assignments, football regions revealed

There were no changes with Swanton teams when the Ohio High School Athletic Association announced new division assignments for the fall sports of football, soccer and volleyball on Wednesday.

The OHSAA Board of Directors also approved new regional assignments for football.

The Swanton football team will remain in Division V, Region 18, where they were placed in 2019.

Delta and Evergreen will move from Region 23 to Region 22 in Division VI for the 2020 campaign. They will be joined in Region 22 by fellow Northwest Ohio Athletic League members Archbold and Liberty Center.

In boys soccer, a trio of local teams are represented in Division III. Delta, Evergreen and Swanton are each in the same division.

In the NWOAL, Archbold and Liberty Center will also be in Division III.

On the girls side, Delta, Evergreen and Swanton will stay in Division III. They are joined there by Archbold and Liberty Center.

A bevy of NWOAL teams were placed in Division III for volleyball. Delta, Evergreen and Swanton are there, along with Archbold, Liberty Center and Wauseon.
