Swanton ended a five-game skid Friday, knocking off Delta 52-37 in Northwest Ohio Athletic League boys basketball.
A lopsided second quarter allowed the visiting Bulldogs to build a 29-16 halftime lead. Swanton outscored Delta 15-6 in the period.
They added to their advantage in the third quarter, nearly doubling up the Panthers 39-21 by the end. Delta outscored Swanton in the fourth but it was not nearly enough.
Swanton (8-12, 2-4 NWOAL) was led by Josh Vance with 14 points. Trent Weigel and Sam Betz scored 10 points each for the Bulldogs.
On Tuesday, Feb. 11, Swanton nearly knocked off Toledo Christian, the No. 9 team in Ohio in Division IV. The Bulldogs rallied but came up just short, falling 47-45 on their home floor.
Swanton trailed 39-28 heading into the fourth quarter, but stormed back to make the game interesting.
Andrew Thornton and Vance paced the Bulldogs with 13 points apiece. Cole McWhinnie led the Eagles with 22 points.
Swanton will finish up the regular season this week with a pair of tough games. The Bulldogs travel to Cardinal Stritch on Tuesday and host Archbold on Friday.
