Junior High grapplers place second at Northwood Ranger Invite

The Swanton Junior High wrestlers scored 166 points to finish in second place at the Northwood Ranger Invitational on Saturday. The Perrysburg Yellow Jackets won the tournament with 184 points and league rival Delta finished third with 135 points in the 14-team tournament.

Swanton had ten wrestlers place in the top four in their weight class. For the second week in a row, Tyler Anderson and Ian Saunders finished as tournament champions, while Chris Echler, Tyler Gowing, Noah Driver and Brodie Steven all finished second.

The Bulldogs also had three wrestlers – Derrick Cook, Xavier Wiemken and Connor Cass finish third in their weight class. Garrett Bradish took fourth.

The Bulldogs are back in action Wednesday as they travel to Springfield to take on the Blue Devils.
