Evergreen scored midway through the second half to take a 1-0 lead but couldn’t make it stand up as Bryan scored twice in the last six minutes to take a 2-1 Northwest Ohio Athletic League girls soccer win Tuesday at Pifer Field.
After a scoreless first half with scoring chances at a minimum, Asia Gensch found Paige Radel with a give-and-go pass, and the sophomore went left-right-left to beat goalie Meg Voigt at the 22:27 mark of the second half for a 1-0 Viking margin.
That goal stood until with 6:15 left in the game when Ali Dubois beat Viking goalie Jordan Lumbrezer in a foot race to a ball on the perimeter and scored to knot up the match.
Gensch had a chance a minute later but her shot which beat Voigt, ricocheted off the crossbar to keep the score at 1-1.
Two minutes later, Delilah Taylor went left to right against Lumbrezer and the Viking keeper couldn’t catch up as the shot found its way into the net for a 2-1 Bryan advantage.
The loss dropped the Vikings to 2-3 in the NWOAL with one league game remaining against Archbold.
