SYLVANIA – Swanton softball was able to get just one game in last week as a result of the rainy weather, however, they made it count. They traveled to Southview Saturday where they picked up an 11-5 non-league win.
The win was coach Joe Nye’s 100th as the leader of Swanton’s softball program.
Freshman Trista Eitniear did a bulk of the damage when she hammered a three-run home run. Rachel Waszak went 4 for 5 for the Bulldogs.
Earning the win in the circle was Bre Williams. The Swanton defense did not commit any errors playing behind Williams.
Swanton hosts Liberty Center in a Division III sectional semifinal Monday. They then host Wauseon Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. and Edgerton comes to town for a doubleheader on Saturday.
