Swanton softball earned a huge Northwest Ohio Athletic League win Thursday, winning on the road at Patrick Henry 2-1.

It was the Patriots first blemish in league play.

Swanton freshman pitcher Bre Williams had 10 strikeouts. On offense, Kylie Ulch had a key double for the Bulldogs.

“Defense played great,” said head coach Joe Nye.

“Sophomore Rachel Waszak was awesome behind the plate,” he added.

The Dogs split a pair of contests earlier in the week. They fell 14-6 to Bryan in league play April 15, then defeated Ottawa Hills 20-1 on Wednesday.

Alexis Bergman picked up the win in the circle for Swanton against Ottawa Hills. Jessica Dohm drove in four runs and Ulch knocked in a pair.

The Dogs had eight errors in their loss to Bryan.

Swanton, which moved to 10-4 after knocking off PH, has a full slate this week. After hosting Delta Monday, the Bulldogs are at Toledo Christian Tuesday, Waite on Wednesday, host Liberty Center Thursday, then travel to Scott for a doubleheader on Saturday.
