KANSAS – Swanton’s boys and girls teams placed second at the Lakota Junior High Invitational on Friday.
The boys team scored 57 points to finish in second behind Carey’s 107.5. The Bulldogs won two events.
Kayden Davis won the high jump and set a new meet record at 5’7”. The 4x100m relay team of Blaize Garncarz, Mason Black, Kamon Molina, and Gavin Parker also finished first.
The 4x200m relay team of Garncarz, Black, Molina, and Parker placed second, as did the 4×400 team of Xander Wiemken, Garncarz, Abel Carman and Davis.
Molina was second in 110m hurdles.
Wiemken finished third in the 400m and fifth in the long jump. Carman was sixth in the 800m.
The Swanton girls tallied 70.5 points to finish runner-up in the 15-team invitational behind Woodmore, who had 123.
Katie Floyd was a double winner for the Dogs, taking first in shot put and discus.
Lilly Alfsen took first in high jump and sixth in the 200m.
The 4x100m relay team of Kyleigh Shinaver, Alaina Pelland, Megan Haselman, and Lilly Alfsen placed second, as did the 4x200m relay team of Shinaver, Pelland, Haselman and Peighton Manning.
Emma Crow was third in the 1600m run and sixth in the 400m. The 4x400m relay team of Shinaver, Ava Keiser, Kelsey Schaffer, and Crow placed fourth.
Also, Morgan Smith was fifth in high jump, Tiffany Luo seventh in long jump, Keiser eighth in long jump, and Maddie Jaqua eighth in shot put.
