Swanton wrestling drops two league matches

Swanton dropped a pair of matches at a Northwest Ohio Athletic League quad with Archbold, Montpelier and Wauseon Thursday in Wauseon. The Bulldogs were defeated by Archbold 42-28 and Wauseon 64-15.

Swanton pins against the Blue Streaks were Zachary LaPlante at 113 pounds, Zach Schaller (126), Ethan Branum (145) and Brodie Stevens (285). Ryan Marvin took a 16-4 major decision against Jose Luna at 152 pounds.

Archbold added a 61-12 win over Montpelier in its second match.

Bulldogs winning versus Wauseon were Xavier Wiemken (182) by pin against Wyatt Lane and Stevens (285) 10-4 over Jaden Banister. Marvin (152) earned a victory by forfeit.

Before facing the Dogs, the Indians had topped Montpelier 69-6.

Swanton drops to 2-2 in the league. The Dogs host a league quad Thursday, Jan. 10 where they will take on Delta and Bryan.
