The Village of Swanton updated the public on the Church Street reconstruction project Wednesday afternoon.

A contractor mobilized earlier this week to perform work related to a water line replacement at Crestwood Drive and Church Street. This is the result of the water line break on Aug. 6.

The contractor installed a valve on Tuesday which caused the Village of Swanton to shut off water distribution to this area for a short time. The valve is working properly but there is a boil advisory until at least Thursday, Aug. 16 at 9:30 a.m. per standard EPA requirements.

The contractor is scheduled to replace the water line on Thursday. This is weather contingent and barring any unforeseen issues.

After the water line is completely installed there will be vehicular access to the west of Church Street. This access will be until Tuesday evening Aug. 21 as paving of the road is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday Aug. 22. This paving is also contingent on weather and any unforeseen issues.
