FCEDC to offer ‘Fulton Leadership University’

Staff report

The Fulton County Economic Development Corporation, in collaboration with Dr. Christopher Harben, SDL, MBA, will present “Fulton Leadership University” monthly from September through May of 2019.

The course will be held the second Friday of each month, and will cover such leadership topics as performance improvement, negotiation, strategic management, transactional and transformative leadership, conflict management, and board governance, among others. Participants will also learn about the history and culture of Fulton County by visiting non-profit organizations and agricultural businesses, as well as other county businesses.

Participants and their sponsoring employer will receive coaching and mentoring from Dr. Harben, an assistant professor at Penn State’s Erie campus and a leadership development coach, and leadership assessments for both the participant and the sponsor. Companies are encouraged to sponsor rising stars, mid-level managers or supervisors.

The course is available to all Fulton County businesses, any county resident working outside the county, and all FCEDC members.

Space is limited. Applications are available at www.fcedc-ohio.com, and are due by Aug. 10. The cost is $500, with a limited number of scholarship opportunities available for small businesses and non-profit organizations.
