Swanton Public Library offering adult programs

Multiple programs are planned for adults this month at the Swanton Public Library.

May yoga schedule

Mixed Level Hatha Yoga I & II will be held on Monday, May 14 and 21 from 10:15-11:45 a.m. These sessions are slightly more advanced, providing an opportunity to expand participants’ skill levels. Class fee is $10 per session.

Hatha Yoga Basics will be offered on Thursdays from 10:15-11:45 a.m. Class fee is by donation, and proceeds benefit the library.

Chair Yoga will be offered on Thursdays from 2-3 p.m. This class involves the same poses done in other yoga classes, but modified to make them gentler while sitting or sometimes standing with a chair for balance and support. Class fee is $5. No yoga mat is required.

Canvas painting

Join local artist Donna Mills on May 31 at 5 p.m. for a painting class suitable for beginners. Participants will paint an endearing portrait of a rooster on a 15” x 20” canvas using different methods. All supplies are provided. Total cost per person is $25.

An example painting is on display at the library. Call 419-826-2760, visit, or visit the library website to register. Space is limited.

Writers’ Group

The monthly Writers’ Group will be meeting Thursday the 30th at 7 p.m. The group is led by local freelance author Nathan Jacobs.

Attendees should bring works to share, both finished and in-progress, and be ready to discuss ways to improve writing skills. Registration is requested, but walk-ins are welcome.
