Evergreen Library announces April events

The Evergreen Community Library in Metamora has a variety of events scheduled in April.

Story Time classes and Wednesday Wigglers will present the following programs: April 4, Spring is Here!; April 11, Gardens; April 18, Ponds; and April 25, Wind.

Story Time classes are held Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. for ages 3-5, with Ms. Martie leading stories, finger plays, music, and crafts. Wednesday Wigglers are held 10:30 a.m. for children 36 months old and younger, and are led by Ms. Beth for early literacy, social interaction, and music.

Record Craft can be attended Tuesday, April 10, 6-7:30 p.m. or Wednesday, April 18, 1-2:30 p.m. If you can trace you can do this craft. Supplies provided; bring a snack to share.

Family Movie: “Ferdinand,” Wednesday, April 11; 5-7 p.m. Bring a comfortable chair and/or blanket. Popcorn provided. Children welcome to attend in pajamas; children under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Must have minimum of 10 people registered.

Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) Day, featuring Bo the Therapy Dog, Thursday, April 12, 3-4 p.m. Mrs. Youtzy, Evergreen Local Schools first grade teacher, will read. Children 4-10 invited.

Ode to Grandmother’s Aprons, Saturday, April 14, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Bring grandmas, moms, and daughters to this inter-generational event. A program honoring Grandma’s aprons will follow a potluck luncheon. Register by April 7; call the library for information.

Cholesterol screening, Community Room, Monday, April 16, 4-7 p.m. Sponsored by the Fulton County Health Center. Total cholesterol number, HDL, blood glucose number, and blood pressure check. Suggested donation of $5 donated to Heart Radiothon.

Bingo Extravaganza, Tuesday, April 17, 4-5:30 p.m. An afternoon of Bingo for participants 15 and older. Play regular Bingo for small prizes. Bring three small prizes if possible.

Novel Ideas Book Discussion, Wednesday, April 25, 4-5 p.m. This month’s selection, “Faithful” by Alice Hoffman. Copies at the circulation desk beginning April 1.

Children’s Book Week, April 30-May 5. Children 3-10, Friday, May 4, noon-5 p.m., read one-on-one with Ms. Martie.

Myth and Magic Tea Party, Saturday, May 5, 2-4 p.m. Faith Lutheran Church hosts to benefit the library. A light luncheon and entertainment will be provided. Silent auction for antiques and gift baskets. Prizes awarded for best table decorations. Tickets $20 per person, sold individually or in tables of four. Registration and payment deadline Saturday, April 28; checks payable to Faith Lutheran Church.

Babysitting Clinic, Saturday, May 12, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Participants 11 and older may register. Sponsored by the Fulton County Health Center. You may drop off or mail your payment of $20, payable to FCHC, to the library to secure registration.

A 3D printer will be on display in April. Watch it work and take home an item.

Voter registration – register, update information or request an absentee ballot. Also register online at ohio.gov. You must be registered by April 9 to participate in the May 8 election.
