Swanton High School students continue to do well at Business Professionals of America contests.

Accounting students Haiden Gombash, Wyatt Lake, Seth Rains, Trevor Schaller, Cydney Christensen, Haley Nelson, Isaac Thomas, Tanner Callicotte, Anthony Howard, Zack Bloom, Weston Miller, Sidney Taylor and Dominic Domitio qualified through regional academic competitions to compete at the Ohio Business Professionals of America State Accounting Contest in Columbus on March 7-8. Of the 13 Swanton accounting students competing, seven received All-State Top-Ten honors in their respective divisions, with three of them qualifying to represent the state of Ohio at the National Business Professionals of America contest in Dallas, Texas May 8-13.

The national qualifiers are Trevor Schaller in Advanced Accounting, Seth Rains in Fundamental Accounting and Isaac Thomas in Advanced Accounting. Schaller is only the second student from Swanton to take a first place State Champion award with BPA.

Students are part of the Swanton accounting program that is funded through Penta Career Center. Swanton students receive College Credit Plus college credits with their high school course work.
