Big changes are afoot at St. Richard School. In fact, ever since Christmas break, we’re getting to be downright unrecognizable!
Thanks to the huge success of our yearly Chili Cook-Off and Wine & Pallet Painting Classes, SRS Parent Club, St. Richard Parish and CADA were able to tackle a much-needed gymnasium update. New paint, updated soundboards, and a fantastic new Crusader mural, generously donated by parishioners Phil and Coleen Watts have made the space modern, fun and befitting to the awesome athletes who practice there.
SRS Parent Club also spent the short Christmas break on a super special mission, renovating the staff bathroom. It was a welcome surprise to come back to for all the dedicated and caring teachers and staff of our school.
As we ease back into normalcy after break and a series of cancellations and delays, our Crusaders are falling right into place this trimester as they dive into projects for their upcoming literary and science fairs with Mrs. Cooper, as well as completing art projects with Mrs. “Art” McArthur. Both will be featured at our upcoming March Open House and Student Fair.
January 28 officially kicks off Catholic Schools Week, and on top of the fun dress up days we have planned for the students, the children will also be making Blessing Bags to stock our St. Richard Food Pantry. They’ve been collecting money and toiletries to assemble the bags for those in need. The empathy and kindness displayed by our Crusaders are just a few of many reasons thankful for Catholic Schools this week.
