Two local residents will be performing in St. Ursula Academy’s latest musical theater production, Peter Pan.
The 1954 musical, with book by J.M. Barrie, music by Jule Stein and Moose Charlap, and lyrics by Carolyn Leigh, will be presented at Toledo’s historic Valentine Theatre Feb. 2-4.
Under the direction of Kirsten Hinshaw, an SUA alumna who is also the Director of Performing Arts at the school, the famous musical features Swanton residents Claudia Dominique as Mrs. Darling and Peter LaPlante as a Pirate.
Hinshaw said, “This timeless classic explores the playfulness of youth, reminding us all to not grow up too fast! In St. Ursula’s production, actors will fly high above the Valentine Stage as the pirates, warriors, and Lost Boys battle for control of Neverland. This production is dazzling—the designers have all worked tirelessly to transport the audience into these fantasy lands!”
Tickets are available by visiting the SUA website at www.toledosua.org or by calling the Valentine Theatre at (419) 242-2787. Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for students. Peter Pan will be performed on Friday, Feb. 2, at 7:30 p.m.; on Saturday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 2 p.m.
The Valentine theater is located at 410 Adams Street in downtown Toledo.
