Swanton celebrating Halloween Saturday

Staff Report

Swanton will be celebrating Halloween on Saturday with a party downtown and trick-or-treating.

The Halloween fun starts with what has become an annual tradition, the Halloween Hoopla from 3-5 p.m. Taking place in downtown Swanton, the eighth annual Hoopla offers a safe, family-friendly event for all ages.

Among the fun offered will be games, a straw maze, pedal cart races, bouncy houses, and trick-or-treating at local businesses.

There will be some small changes from prior years to the activities planned for the Hoopla. The pedal cart races will be moved. Cookie decorating will be at the the Swanton Board of Education this year.

Main Street downtown and sections of some other streets will be closed to traffic for the event.

Also on Saturday, trick-or-treating will be from 6-7:30 p.m. in the village.
