Quilters Guild to host Pignatelli

The Gathering of Quilters Guild will begin their 35th year with lecture and trunk show by Vikki Pignatelli, national and international award winning quilt artist and author from Reynoldsburg, Ohio.

She will present a lecture on “Nurturing Your Creative Spirit: Personal Traits That Inspire Great Quilts.” Pignatelli is a full-time quilt artist, author, teacher, and instructor who has developed a layering technique for piecing curves. She and her quilts have been featured in national publications and the 1998 American Quilters Society Art Engagement Calendar. She has won eighteen awards from national and international quilt shows, including a first place award for, “Portrait of My Soul” at the International Quilt Festival at Houston and Best Color and Design in the 2002 NQA annual show. Pignatelli is also the author of “Quilting Curves,” published in 2001

The meeting and lecture will be held on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. at Holland Free Methodist Church, 6605 Angola Road. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. After the presentation, there will be show and tell, and everyone is invited to bring their quilts to show.

The Gathering of Quilters Guild, event sponsor was founded in 1982 and promotes the art and craft of quilting. Membership is open to any person interested in quilts and quilt making for $25.00 a year.
