The 2017 Swanton Corn Festival committee last week thanked the Swanton community for coming out and enjoying the festival this year.
In addition to the committee, the following groups did a lot to make sure that this year’s festival ran smoothly: Swanton Rotary helped with setting up all of the tents on Thursday and also supplied a lunch for all of the workers, Swanton High School National Honor Society helped with the set up and the decorating, Sadowski’s Produce donated the corn stalks for decorating, the Boy Scouts did the trash pick-up for the whole day and the Swanton Lions and Leo’s helped with the tear down on Sunday.
There were various competitions and tournaments throughout the day. The following are the results of many of those events:
First Place- Hoppin’ N’ Trottin’ 4H Club,
Second Place – Swanton Class of ’67,
Third Place – Swanton Valley Center.

The Swanton Corn Festival was indeed filled with great food, fun rides, challenging games and great entertainment. Although the Festival would not happen without many volunteers, it also would not happen without financial support. Business sponsors included Platinum Sponsor Charlies Automotive and Gold Sponsors Scottdel Cushion, AMRI of Swanton, Swanton Welding, Weigel Funeral Home, McNeill’s Chevrolet, Loma Linda Restaurant, North Star BlueScope Steel and the Schmidt Brothers as well as the many Silver, Supporting and Contributing Sponsors.
