With the change to the school buildings, there will also be some transportation changes for Swanton students. New stops announced at the most recent board meeting included:
Middle school/high school
According to transportation director Jason Divoll, there will be added group stops north of the railroad tracks to help cut down on walkers crossing the tracks going to Swanton Middle School.
There will be a group stop at the Fisher gym for students that live in the neighborhood north of Dodge Street and west of Main Street.
There will be a group stop in front of St Richard Church on Brookside Drive, in the parking lot by the road, for any students who wish to ride that live south of the turnpike and north of Church Street between Hallett Avenue and Main Street.
This does not include Valleywoods Drive. There will be a bus that goes there.
There will also be a bus dedicated every day to run sports players from the middle school to Fisher gym.
For elementary students, there will be a group stop at Swanton Middle School for students south of the railroad tracks and north of Harding Drive, between Munson Road and Main Street.
There will be group stop at Pilliod Park for students south of the railroad tracks and north of Bassett Avenue between Hallett Avenue and Main Street.
There will also be a new stop for anyone south of Hickory Street and north of Brookside Drive between Hallett Avenue and St Richards Court. This stop will be at 105 Oak St.
Preschool students will be transferred from the elementary school on Crestwood Drive every morning to the high school, and in the afternoon, preschool students a bus will take preschool students to the elementary to get on their appropriate bus to go home.
