The Village of Swanton recently unveiled a new logo, and department division icons, as part of an ongoing rebranding initiative.
The rebranding initiative is a partnership between the Village of Swanton and Bowling Green State University’s School of Art, Graphic Design division. Three students, Kate Blankerts, Frank Fagyvathy, and Emily Frazier, along with professor Amy Fidler, coloborated with village officials, as well as members of the Swanton community to produce a fresh, modern brand.
Village Administrator Rosanna Hoelzle said the main logo illustrates Swanton as moving forward in a subtle way.
“The rebranding is an important initiative to illustrate Swanton in a modern forward thinking way,” she said. “The rebranding also allows for uniformity throughout the Village Divisions. We would like to illustrate that the Village of Swanton is a unified front providing all these valuable services to the community.”
The main Village of Swanton logo will be used on all letterheads. Each division will also have their respective icon illustrated on their letterhead, according to Hoelzle.
The main logo will also be used on all forms, agendas, new uniforms, IDs, name badges, and on the website, she added.
“The Village is currently researching quotes and design for signage throughout the community,” said Hoelzle. “The intent is to include the logo on these signs and create a uniform presence.”
Full adoption of the new logo and icons will be phased in over the next couple months. The plan is to have them fully implemented with the launch of a new village website this fall. “The website launch, will give the Village of Swanton a fresh platform to provide information to its current resident as well as any perspective member of the community,” said Hoelzle.
