Swanton woman hurt in crash

Staff report

A Swanton woman was seriously injured Sunday in a one-vehicle accident in Clinton Township.

The Toledo post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that a 2002 Dodge Dakota driven by Christina Fisher, 41, was westbound on U.S. 20A near State Highway 108 at approximately 10:06 a.m. when the vehicle went off the right side of the road, struck a mailbox and a tree, and caught fire.

Fisher was transported by Mercy Life Flight to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo with non-life threatening injuries. On Monday, a hospital spokesperson said no patient by that name was listed.

Impairment is not a factor in the crash, and Fisher was not wearing a safety belt.

Troopers were also assisted on scene by the Wauseon Fire Department and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.
