The Fulton County Senior Center has several upcoming events for seniors age 60 and older.
Fulton County seniors are invited to a Good Friday breakfast on Friday, April 14, at 8:30 a.m., at the center at 240 Clinton St. in Wauseon. The menu will include egg, bacon, and cheese casserole, sausage links, fruit, doughnuts, and beverages. The suggested donation is $2 for Fulton County seniors age 60 and over. Call 419-337-9299 for a reservation.
Seniors age 60 years and older who are interested in improving balance, flexibility, and strength or who are concerned about falling are invited to engage with an instructor from the Area Office on Aging every Monday and Wednesday, 9:30-11:30 a.m., beginning June 5, and concluding June 28, at the Wauseon location. The class is free.
The Delta Senior Center, in association with the Area Office on Aging, will host six free, interactive sessions of the Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (DEEP), Tuesdays from July 18 to Aug. 22, 10 a.m.-noon, at Delta United Methodist Church, 101 Northwood Drive.
The sessions will be led by a nutrition and wellness specialist, and will teach participants how to manage diabetes through healthy eating, understand risk factors for diabetes, and how to monitor their bodies and gain healthy living tips useful for anyone age 60 and over.
For both the Wauseon and Delta events, call Beth at 419-337-9299 to sign up and to reserve a noon lunch.
