U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown Friday announced $123,750 in federal funding for Toledo Express Airport to make improvements that will help increase efficiency and safety. The Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the funding.
“Support for community airports is key to the safety of travelers and the flow of commerce,” said Brown. “This award will give Lucas County the resources to make needed improvements that will benefit those that rely on the local airport and its services.”
The $123,750 award will fund the a wildlife hazard assessment to assess local species and their movement and activities, and will fund a pavement management program to develop a repair, maintenance, and rehabilitation program to prioritize airfield pavement projects.
