Airman from 180th Fighter Wing dies in accident

Early Tuesday, Feb. 28, Senior Airman Sebastian R. Guerrero III of the 180th Fighter Wing, Ohio Air National Guard, was killed in an accident on northbound I-75 in Lucas County.

A statement from the Fighter Wing said, “We are deeply saddened by today’s terrible events. We extend our heartfelt sympathies and condolences to all who have been impacted by this tragic loss. We share in the sorrow felt by his loved ones and we will not forget the valuable contributions he made to our country or the impact he has left on this unit. The men and women of the 180FW are a close-knit family and this loss affects us all. We ask for your understanding as his family, friends and our Airmen grieve and heal during this difficult time.”

Guerrero enlisted in September 2013 as a services journeyman assigned to the Force Sustainment Squadron. Guerrero recently returned home from a six-month deployment, overseas, in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.
