Making up for a lack of snow last winter, the Swanton area received a wintry wallop on Sunday. A total of 10.2 inches of snow was reported at Toledo Express Airport.
The normal snowfall for the month of December is 7.4 inches.
The snow led local schools to delay Sunday evening. Monday morning they were closed.
Main roads in the area did improve relatively quickly. Hard working road crews along with temperatures at or above freezing helped clear the streets.
Temperatures are expected to plummet later in the week. Highs could struggle to get to double digits for a day or two.
