Swanton to celebrate an All-Star Christmas

The Christmas in Swanton Committee is excited to announce that Robert L. and Linda Fisher will serve as this year’s Christmas in Swanton Parade Grand Marshals. On Dec. 3, they will lead the parade, which is themed All-Star Christmas.

Christmas in Swanton will kick-off at the Elks Lodge on N. Main St, where a hot, full breakfast will be served from 8-10 a.m. Lunch will be available to purchase from the Swanton Band Boosters at the high school after the parade.

The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will feature marching bands, floats, horses and of course, Santa Clause. The parade route will once again be Park School to Main Street, where it will head north to Cherry and will end at the middle school.

The craft show and sale will begin at 10 a.m. and will be open until 4 p.m. Crafters from all over the region will be selling creative and unique holiday gifts. The craft show will be at Swanton High School.

Santa will be available to listen to holiday wishes in the High School Auditorium from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., and again from 2-3:30 p.m. Santa’s visit is hosted by the Swanton Fire Department.

The Friends of the Swanton Public Library will sponsor a presentation by Toledo Zoo and Aquarium, complete with the Zoo’s mobile touch tank in the auditorium at 1 p.m.

Christmas in Swanton will once again feature a food drive hosted by the OURCCL. Non-perishable food items will be accepted at all schools the week prior to and at the high school the day of the event. All donations will go to the Swanton Food Pantry.

Many other activities will be going on at the high school throughout the day including; children’s crafts, Happy the Clown, wagon rides and a model train display by the Swanton Model Train Club.

This free, family-fun event is made possible by generous contributions from numerous businesses, organizations, and individuals in the Swanton community.
