Northwestern Ohio Community Action Commission announced it has added the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system for scheduling all emergency service appointments.
Clients in Fulton County can now schedule appointments for HEAP, PIPP, Winter Crisis, Weatherization, and other emergency assistance by calling 844-493-1193.
The IVR system will be available 24/7, and eligibility requirements and general information such as office hours, holiday schedule, and driving directions will be given. Clients will receive a reminder text or phone call about their appointment, and a live operator will be available for special circumstances.
The system will take effect with the Winter Crisis program season, which can provide financial assistance to qualified households whose heating service has been disconnected or threatened with disconnection or need furnace repair. The program operates from Nov 1. to March 31.
NOCAC offers a limited amount of first-come, first-served walk-in appointments Tuesdays from 8:15-10 a.m. and Thursdays from 2-4 p.m. Required documents include: citizenship proof, birth certificate or legal resident status for everyone in the household; proof of income the past 90 days for all members of the household; Social Security cards; the most recent electric and gas bill; and proof of disability, if applicable.
