Library renewal among election issues

Several issues will be on the ballot in in the area this November, including a Swanton Public Library levy renewal.

There is just one countywide issue in Fulton County.

The Four County Board of Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services will seek the renewal of a five-year, 0.7-mill levy for current expenses. The Four County ADAMhs Board of Williams, Fulton, Defiance, and Henry counties was created in 1978 to ensure the availability of community-based alcohol, drug addiction, and mental health services.

Lucas County has four countywide levies on the ballot.

Lucas County Children Services is seeking a five-year, 1.8-mill renewal and increase for support, placement and care. A five-year, 0.7-mill levy is on the ballot for the 911 system in Lucas County.

The Toledo Zoo is seeking a renewal and decrease of a levy for maintenance and operation. It is a five-year, 0.75-mill levy. A renewal of the Imagination Station levy is also on the ballot. It is five years at 0.17-mills.

Voters in the Four County Career Center area will be asked to approve an additional 1-mill for a continuing period of time to cover current expenses.

Voters in the Swanton school district will seek a renewal request for a library levy. The renewal is for five years and 1.0-mill.

Voters in the area, but outside of Swanton Local Schools, will decide on the Toledo Public Library levy, which is a renewal and increase at five years and 3.7-mills.

In the Village of Metamora, voters will decide on an additional 0.5-mill levy for parks and recreation for five years.

Voters in Berkey will decide whether to renew a five-year, 3-mill levy for current operating expenses. Richfield Township voters will vote on a fire levy renewal of three years at 2.5-mills.

Voters in the Delta Three precinct will decide whether to allow Sunday sales of wine and mixed beverages and spirituous liquor at Delta 109.

Swanton area voters in the Anthony Wayne Local School District will see a 37-year, 2.38-mill bond issue for the purposes of building a new elementary school and new athletic building.
