One suspect is in custody and another is still at large following a burglary Thursday in Amboy Township that may be connected to a rash of others in and around Fulton County.

Corey L. Richardson, 40, of Toledo was arrested by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, and booked into the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio for aggravated burglary after being treated for injuries at the Fulton County Health Center. Other charges may be added.

Responding to a call of a burglary in progress, a sheriff’s deputy came across the suspects’ vehicle and attempted to stop it. The vehicle traveled through a yard, down a lane, and into a cornfield, where the suspects fled on foot. Richardson was apprehended a short time later, according to the sheriff’s office.

Following an extensive search with assistance from the Wauseon, Delta, and Toledo police departments, the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the second suspect was not found. That suspect was described as a white male wearing a red shirt and khaki pants.

Sheriff Roy Miller said his office is looking for Richard Schoch, 45, of Holland, Ohio, in connection with the burglaries. He is described as 5-feet, 10 inches tall, 180 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Warrants have been issued for four counts of felony burglary. If anyone sees him or knows his whereabouts they can contact local police immediately, or the Crimestopper Line at 1-800-255-1122 if they wish to remain anonymous.

The description of the vehicle and suspects given by witnesses and other evidence collected from burglaries occurring earlier in the week in Fulton County, the City of Wauseon, and areas of Lucas County leads authorities to believe these suspects are associated with those burglaries.

There are no other details at this time. Residents who witness suspicious activity or any person that fits the description of the suspect at large should call the Fulton County Sheriffs Office. They are advised to keep doors locked and not leave keys in vehicles.
