Poker Run to benefit PTSD sufferers

The Swanton American Legion will host a Poker Run on Saturday, Aug. 27, to purchase a service dog for a veteran afflicted with post traumatic stress disorder.

The fundraiser will begin at 11:30 a.m., making several stops at other American Legion posts, then returning to Swanton. The is $15 per rider, $10 per passenger, and $10 after 4 p.m., dinner included. There will also be basket raffles and 50/50 drawings.

The founder and service dog from the Battle Buddy Foundation and a man who produced a living American flag out of Army personnel will be guests.

This event is open to the public.

Monetary donations can be made to the “Battle Buddy Foundation Poker Run” account at any PNC Bank.

Last year’s event attracted 163 riders and over 400 people in total.
