Hoopla, Trick or Treehouse on tap in Swanton


A weekend of Halloween fun is on tap in Swanton.

The annual Halloween Hoopla returns to Downtown Swanton from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday. The event, presented by the Swanton Lions Club, will include trick-or-treating at local businesses, games, cookie decorating, pedal cart races, bouncy houses, “Thriller” dancers, candy, hot dogs, popcorn, doughnuts and more.

Following the Hoopla, trick-or-treating will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. throughout the village.

There is also spooky fun planned at the Beach Ridge Area of Oak Openings Metropark.

Events on Saturday from 7-10 p.m., a night bike ride, riding the lights at the FitPark Ride, live music and a Cannaley Treehouse Village open house.

On Sunday from 5-9 p.m., Ride the Lights and the open house will resume.

Trick or Treehouse will be held from 5-7 p.m. with candy stations at the treehouses for little visitors. Costumes are encouraged. There will also be a glow rock wall to climb.
