Fulton Co. Sheriff announces May traffic blitz

Sheriff Roy E. Miller has announced that the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a Traffic Enforcement Blitz. This Blitz will run from May 8-21. Deputies will be working various hours and locations around Fulton County and they will be looking for distracted driving, seatbelt, speed, and impaired driving violations.

Blitzes are funded from a grant that was awarded to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office from the Ohio Department of Public Safety. The grant pays for extra patrol to enforce the traffic laws that will increase the safety of motorists on the roadways in the areas that are prone to a higher number of serious and fatal crashes.

Results from recent Prom Blitzes were also announced.

Prom Blitz, which ran from April 23-24 and April 30. The blitzes were conducted in conjunction with proms at Fayette and Pettisville High Schools. Deputies who worked this Blitz made 12 traffic stops and issued 2 citations. The citations issued were for speed violations. Deputies also issued 10 warnings during the Blitz.
