Kids can read to therapy dog at SPL

The Swanton Public Library will hold Reading Paws and Anime Club programs this month.

Reading Paws combines kids, dogs and books. Children sign up to read aloud for 20 minutes to a certified therapy dog, who is happy just to listen. They can improve reading skills and have fun reading with a friendly dog at the same time.

Australian shepherd Natty will be there on Saturday, Feb. 26 from 10 a.m. to noon. Kids can read to her in 20-minute slots; six slots are available.
