SPL announces adult programs for Feb.

Activities for adults this month at the Swanton Public Library include card making and a book club.

Adult book club

This month, join Marty and the rest of the Adult Book Club in enjoying another thriller. February’s title is David Baldacci’s “Daylight.” Join the club on Feb. 10 at 5:30 p.m.

Stop in, call, or request a copy of this month’s book via curbside service. Copies are limited.

Writers group

Are you an aspiring writer of any kind? Are you beyond just aspiring but need some input on your writing?

On Thursdays Feb. 10 and 24 at 5:30 p.m. to chat with local freelance writer Nathan Jacobs and other local writers. This program is free to attend, and no registration is required.

Card making

They’re taking a break from the holiday themed cards to work a bit on technique. For February, local cardmaking expert Anna Geis will teach participants three different ways to creatively fold your cards.

Room is limited, so stop in, call, or visit the library’s website to register today. Class fee is $7 for three cards, and all supplies are provided.

The class is held Thursday, Feb. 17 at 5 p.m.

Monthly programs

Chess Club is officially back and open to beginners and seasoned chess players alike, and meets in the library every Wednesday at 5 p.m.

The Fiber Art Fiends is suspended until further notice due to COVID concerns. Yoga with Aimee will not be returning to the library due to lack of attendance, but interested parties can join classes with Aimee out of her own home. Call the library for details.

The Swanton Historical Society will meet every Friday 10 a.m. Anyone interested in joining or volunteering with the Historical Society is encouraged to attend.
