Local students earn honors, graduate


Students from the local area have recenlty earned honors and graduated from universities.

Several area students were awarded honors for the fall semester at Mercy College of Ohio. To be named on the Dean’s List, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.3 or higher and be enrolled for 12 or more credit hours. To be named on the Honor’s List, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.3 or higher and be enrolled for 6-11 credit hours. To be named on the President’s List, a student must achieve a 4.0 grade point average and be enrolled for 14 or more credit hours.

Named to the Honors List were Kristin Stacey of Delta and Morgan Rufenacht of Wauseon. Named to the Dean’s List were Andrea Thatcher of Delta, Emily Latusek of Swanton, and Samantha Trumbull of Swanton.

William Gombash of Swanton earned a Master of Science in Environmental Management from University of Maryland Global Campus. More than 8,000 students from all 50 states, four U.S. territories, and 26 countries earned UMGC degrees worldwide in fall 2021.

The University of Rhode Island recently announced that Alicia Reichelt of Swanton has been named to the Fall 2021 Dean’s List.

To be included on the Dean’s List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable earning at least a 3.30 quality point average.A

Bradley Geis of Delta was named to the Walsh University Fall 2021 Dean’s List. Students enrolled for at least 12 credits who achieve a grade average of 3.5 or higher in any semester are included on the Dean’s List.
