Library and fire levies were among those approved by Swanton area voters on Nov. 2.
The Swanton Public Library had five-year, 1-mill renewal levy approved by voters. The vote was 905 for the levy and 391 against.
An additional 1-mill fire levy was approved by Fulton Township voters 290-196. Village of Swanton officials have promised to rescind its fire levy on approval of the Fulton Township levy.
In Lucas County, three countywide issues were approved by voters while one was defeated.
The Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) sales tax issue was approved by a vote of 36,253-29,535. Passage will make Lucas County a member of the Toledo Area Regional Transit TARTA, repeal the property tax currently collected by TARTA, and replace it with a 0.5% sales tax countywide, for a 10-year period.
In Swanton, everything east of Hallett Avenue is in Lucas County.
A five-year, 0.7 mill levy for the operation of Lucas County 9-1-1 and Public Safety Information System was renewed by a vote of 45,187-21,329.
A five-year levy renewal and decrease was approved for the Toledo Zoo by a vote of 47,872-18,628. Millage will drop from 0.75 to 0.65.
A property tax replacement and increase for the operation and maintenance of Imagination Station was voted down 34,007-32,302.
