Adults programs will continue in September at the Swanton Public Library.
The first SPL Knit-Along will be held Sept. 22, at 5:30 p.m. Participants can stop by to enjoy some good company and learn how to knit a pair of simple socks.
A librarian will be there to guide the meeting and knit along with you—and to answer any questions and help with any problems. This is a free program, but participants will need to bring their own knitting needles and yarn—size US#1 and US#2 double-pointed knitting needles, and at least 400 yards of a yarn in sock/fingering weight yarn in any color.
Copies of the sock pattern will be available behind the desk. Call the library at 419-826-2760 with any questions.
The September Card Making theme is Fall-ing For You! Make three autumnal cards to warm the hearts of your loved ones just in time for sweater weather.
The class fee is $6 per person for three cards. All supplies are provided. Because room and supplies are limited registration is required.
This class is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 23 at 5 p.m. with no time slots required. Call or visit the library website to register.
The Writers Group will meet at the library in the Community Room on Sept.9 and 23 from 5:30-7 p.m. Chess Club is officially back and open to beginners and seasoned chess players alike, and meets in the library every Wednesday at 5 p.m.
Those interested in knitting can join the Knitting Club Wednesdays the 15th and 29th at 1:30 p.m. Crocheters, spinners, and weavers are also encouraged and welcomed.
There will be no yoga this September, but our instructor will return in October. The SPL Film and TV Discussion are both on hiatus but will return in future months.
The library will closed on Labor Day.
