New Dorr Street interchange opening Monday

The new interchange at Dorr Street and Interstate 475 in Springfield Township and the city of Toledo will open fully on Monday, but beginning later in the day than originally planned.

A public event to celebrate the opening of the interchange will take place on Monday beginning at 10 a.m. It was originally planned to begin opening the interchange, beginning with the entrance ramps, shortly following the conclusion of the event.

Project personnel now plan to begin the process at 6 p.m. that evening, with lane closures on I-475 to remove signage. The interchange is expected to be fully opened by approximately 10 p.m.

Parking for the event will be in the lot at the corner of Dorr Street and Springfield Crossing. Participants are encouraged to take the shuttle, provided by the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA), to the future northbound exit ramp from I-475 to Dorr Street where the event will be held. The shuttle will run from 9 a.m. to noon.

Those who ride the shuttle are required to wear a mask.

Ohio Lt. Governor Jon Husted, Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Director Jack Marchbanks, and several local and state officials are confirmed to speak at the event.
