Health and vendor fair planned in Swanton

In observance of Nursing Home Week, May 8 to 14, Genesis Healthcare Swanton Valley Center, is be sponsoring a Health and Vendor Fair that will be free to our community on Thursday May 12 from 1-4 p.m.

There will be blood pressure screening, home health and hospice agencies, crafter tables, Herbal Life, Dream Haven, 31 Bags, Origami Owl, Paparazzi fashion, Alzheimer’s Association, Downtown Sports Bar and Grill, Fulton County Health Center, Cupcakes by Kel’s Confections, Key Realtor and GM Construction, New Motion Adaptive equipment, and many more.

The center will also be having many daily fun events all week long that are meant to encourage residents, families and others to engage with their loved ones, family members, or neighbors. In fact, everyone can get set to enjoy the week as the American Health Care Association (AHCA) has designated it as the week celebrate to with the theme of “It’s a Small World, with a Big Heart.”

The planning committee wants to make this a special week. The planning committee organizes all the events which include: Nurses reception with root beer floats and hot pretzels, overhead announced bingo all day, carnival fun games and food sampling, Wacky Day fun, Minute to win it games for all, power of the pet day with hot dogs and hopefully adoption pets available on Friday May 13.

National Nursing Home Week is an annual observance sponsored nationally by the American Health Care Association, based in Washington, D.C. and Ohio. Genesis Healthcare Swanton Valley, is a 92-bed, skilled nursing facility with 32 beds dedicated to Alzheimer’s and Dementia care, it is located at 401 W. Airport Highway.
