McCall appointed pastor at Trinity UMC

Trinity United Methodist Church in Swanton has a new pastor. Justin McCall has been appointed to serve as pastor.

His first Sunday will be June 27. “We will be starting with a four week sermon series titled ‘Pray Like This’ on the Lord’s prayer,” he said.

He grew up in the small northwest Ohio town of Forest, with his younger brother and sister. He graduated from Riverdale High School in 2008.

McCall has a B.A. in music from Bluffton University, from which he graduated in 2012. As a music major, Justin’s primary instrument of study was the French horn. While a student, he served as the Director of Choirs and Director of Music Ministries at Bluffton First United Methodist Church.

McCall said he felt his call to ministry after graduation while serving as the music director on a Chrysalis Flight in the Greater Findlay area. Since then, he has served in the church professionally as both a pastor and an associate pastor.

He is currently pursing his Master’s in Divinity at the Methodist Theological School in Delaware, Ohio and expects to complete his degree in Spring 2023.

“I will be coming to the community with my wife of 6 years, Kayla, and our daughter, Merida. Both Kayla and I grew up in Northwest Ohio (McComb and Forest respectively),” said McCall.
