Last week’s snow was one for the record books at Toledo Express Airport.
According to the official snow report at the airport in Swanton Township, 14.5 inches of snow fell over last Monday and Tuesday. That is the highest storm total ever reported at the airport and the third highest in Toledo’s history.
The heavy snow led to a Level 3 Snow Emergency, closing schools and businesses on Tuesday.
The storm also helped push the seasonal snowfall above average and the February snow total into the record books. Over 22 inches of snow has been reported in February, placing 2021 among the top 10 snowiest Februaries on record in Toledo.
The record snowfall in February is 25.3 inches in 2015.
