The Village of Swanton will offer a credit on utility bills to some customers.
In July 2020, the Village of Swanton received monies to be used towards programs, projects, and initiatives which focus on mitigating the exposure to COVID-19. Only programs, projects, and initiatives between March 1 and Oct. 15, 2020 are eligible.
One of the initiatives, offered by the Village of Swanton, is a one-time credit on utility bills for account holders who sign up for automatic payment (ACH) and/or paperless billing. Both of these services will decrease the possible exposure to COVID-19 thus mitigating the risk to COVID-19.
This one-time credit is only for those who signed up between March 1 and Sept. 29, 2020. The credit will be reflected on the bill due Oct. 15, 2020.
The Village anticipatesthe credit to be approximately $10, depending on how many participants and if both services are elected.
ACH is an automatic payment from a checking or savings account. This automatically comes out on the 15th of the month or the next business day if the 15th falls on a weekend or holiday. Paperless billing allows for bills to be emailed to you instead of mailed. There are no additional fees associated with ACH or paperless billing.
