The Village of Swanton will provide a bulk drop off day for its residents on Saturday, Sept. 19.
Residents may drop off items at the Village Municipal Buildingat 219 Chestnut St. between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Identification is required.
Those participating are asked to wear a face covering.
There is a limit of two pickup, trailer or equal loads of trash.
Items not accepted include rocks, bricks, concrete, asphalt, or construction materials, enclosed drums or tanks, yard waste, chemicals, oil, gas, ammunition, explosives, hazardous or toxic chemicals, televisions, refrigerators, air conditioners or any appliances containing Freon.
In addition to normal trash, there will be three specility companies on hand. American Paint Recycler, Recycle IT, USA, and AllShred will provide extra services.
American Paint Recyclers will be on hand to collect latex paint and stain. Individuals pay a per can cash fee of $1 per quart, $2 per gallon, or $6 per 5 gallons.
Among the items Recycle IT will collect are computers, servers, monitors, cameras, camcorders, printers, keyboards, projectors, video game consoles, cell phones, speakers, stereo equipment, and storage devices.
AllShread will take a maximum of five boxes to shred. Secure destruction will be handled offsite.
