The Swanton Area Community Coalition has recognized graduating senior Elizabeth Howard on her exemplary level of service within the Swanton community as well as within the organization.
Over the past four years and beyond, Howard has consistently delivered her time and organizational leadership ability to help facilitate the youth program: S.E.E.D. “It is my pleasure to report that Elizabeth has functioned as event/project coordinator, meeting agenda facilitator, and secretary for S.E.E.D.,” said Andrea Smith, Swanton Area Community Coalition executive director.
The goal of Student’s Encouraging Educated Decisions is to equip a core group of Swanton youth with education on the key issues of prescription medication misuse and underage alcohol consumption in order for them to influence educated decisions within their peer groups. According to research from the Office of National Drug Control Policy, “substance abuse increases, as perception of harm decreases”.
